Number of coats and colour changes

Going from a dark colour to a light one, covering patches evenly, or hitting a deep saturated colour can mean an extra coat. Good coverage is not optional — it's what stops the old colour ghosting through — so it belongs in the estimate honestly rather than being cut to win the job.
